Luker, McMartin and More Fill Cast of A.R. Gurney's Indian Blood
Indian Blood is a coming-of-age comedy about the struggles of personal and family history. Young Eddie Blackman uses his Indian ancestry as a cause and an excuse for his adolescent attacks on the world around him, but is it the real reason for his strife? Blackman's stage credits include A Christmas Carol Tiny Tim and Beauty and the Beast Chip. His film credits include Magnolia, Crown Heights and Zigs and he has appeared on TV in Law and Order.
Arkin appeared on Broadway in The Sunshine Boys. His off-Broadway credits include Dinner with Friends, for which he earned a Drama Desk nomination, Moonlight and Magnolias, Rounding Third, You Should Be So Lucky and The King of Carpets. Arkin's film appearances includes Bittersweet Place,Second Best, Raising Flagg, Death to Smoochy, His TV credits include Rescue Me, 100 Centre Street and Third Watch.
Luker received Tony Award nominations for her work in The Music Man and Show Boat. Her other Broadway credits include Nine, The Sound of Music, The Secret Garden and The Phantom of the Opera. She has appeared off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues.
McGrath, an associate artist of the Old Globe Theatre, has appeared on Broadway in The Music Man and The Night of the Tribades. Her off-Broadway credits include A Man of No Importance and Perry's Mission.
McMartin is currently appearing in Grey Gardens off-Broadway his performance in which recently earned him a Drama Desk Award nomination. He received Tony Award nominations for his work in Into the Woods, High Society, Show Boat, Don Juan and Sweet Charity. His other Broadway credits include Artist Descending a Staircase, The Rules of the Game, The Visit, The Great God Brown and Follies. His Off-Broadway performances include Thrill Me, Julius Caesar and The Misanthrope.
Socarides is currently an understudy for the Broadway revival of Awake and Sing!. His film credits include Virgin and All the Invisible Children.
Payton-Wright's has appeared on the Great White Way in Long Day's Journey Into Night, Garden District, The Night of the Iguana, M. Butterfly, Romeo and Juliet and Mourning Becomes Electra for which she won a Drama Desk, among others. Off-Broadway performances include The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds, Jesse and the Bandit Queen, The Seagull and Hamlet. Payton-Wright's film work includes In Dreams, The Freshman, My Little Girl and Ironweed and she has appeared on TV in Look Homeward Angel, The Adams Chronicles and Homicide.
Indian Blood is set to begin performances on July 25 at 59E59 Theatres, with an official opening on August 9.
